APiF: Please introduce yourself
Niki’s Groove: My name is Nicholle Kobi, I am a French-Congolese illustrator based In Paris.
APiF: You do illustrations – how did you get into drawing/art?
Niki’s Groove: I always drew since I was a kid and I studied art for three years.
APiF: Do you do these digitally on your computer or old school with pencils – how do we have to picture the creative process?
Niki’s Groove: I start to draw with a pen and then create the illustration digitally.
APiF: Black Women, Africa-inspired Fashion, Black Girl Magic – has this always been the focus of your art and if yes why?
Niki’s Groove: Yes always! I mean the most easy thing to draw are people who look just like you.
APiF: What inspires you?
Niki’s Groove: Everything really, people in the street, blogs , music … So many things!
APiF: How can readers purchase your illustrations & products?
Niki’s Groove: Currently I am selling via my etsy shop only.
APiF: Any tips for young inspiring designers/artists?
Niki’s Groove: Work hard and practice every day.
